Cornelius Roberts Obituary (1937

Neil passed away peacefully at home, September 18, 2013 after a short illness leaving behind his loving wife Carrie, who adored him dearly; devoted brother that he chose on this earth, Earl Dickerson and his wife Barbara; Loving son Cole Roberts (Kristina) of Tacoma and treasured grandchildren, Maddie and Adam Roberts. Spreading his fatherly love clear to Connecticut he is survived by children April Williams, Cornelius Roberts II, Crystal Lewis, Debbie Roberts, Darryl Roberts, Brian Roberts and a host of wonderful grandchildren. Neil is also survived by Sister Cheryl, Brother Ronnie, his Uncle Joe and numerous cousins. Neil was born in Terrell County, Georgia on December 16, 1937 to Enoch and Nettie Roberts. At 16 Neil enlisted in the Army for 20 years where he worked as a medic and attended school becoming an LPN. At 36 Neil realized this was not his true calling and went on to Central College to earn his Bachelor's degree to be a Recreational Therapist; Neil landed a job at Western State Mental Hospital and worked there for 13 years until his retirement. Neil also spent 5 years in Saudi Arabia as a teacher sharing his knowledge of the military. Aside from his wife and Maddie and Adam's school events Neil's passion was bowling.
