Harold Shuck

–

University Place, Washington

Harold Eugene Shuck, known to many as Hal, Harold, Dad, or lovingly as Papa, embarked on his final journey on July 24, 2025. Born on May 20, 1937, in Aulne, Kansas, Harold's life was a testament to the strength of character, the joy of laughter, and the enduring bonds of family. He was a dedicated Radar Technician and Quality Control Inspector for the United States Air Force, retiring in 1980 after 24 years of service. Throughout his life, Harold found pleasure in the simple things – the quiet hum of his garden, the thrill of crafting something beautiful, and the joy of a well-played trick or uproarious laughter at the smallest of amusements.

Harold's journey was not a solitary one. He was joined in life by his beloved wife Patsy, with whom he shared 58 1/2 years of marriage, laughter, and love. They traveled from San Antonio, Texas to Ipswitch, England to Bangor, Maine and finally to Washington State, where they spent the remainder of their years. Together, they raised four children and were blessed with five grandchildren. His children and grandchildren became the center of his universe, shaping and defining his life in ways only a devoted father and grandfather can understand. As an Episcopalian, Harold was guided by his unwavering love for his family, even amidst the challenges of life.

Despite the sorrow that comes with saying goodbye, we find comfort in knowing that Harold is now reunited with his beloved Patsy, his parents Glenn and Evelyn Shuck, and his brothers Gerald and Bruce Shuck. He is survived by his children Harold Shuck, Jr. (Sandy), Pauniece Shuck, Carl Shuck (Amy), Glennda Boling (Scott), his grandchildren, Alyssa Boling, Alexander Boling, Jack Boling, Caitlyn Shuck, and Harold Shuck III., and his brother Doug Shuck, who will all carry his legacy forward. As we remember Harold, we remember his life with Patsy and can celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and dedication to family.

In honor of Harold, we invite you to share your memories and photos of him on the memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a testament to Harold's life and the impact he had on those around him. We thank you for your love and support during this time.
