James Jones

James (Jim, Jimmy, Jonsey, JL) Jones passed away peacefully at home on June 26, 2011 surrounded by his family. Jim courageously battled a rare form of kidney cancer for the past 2 years. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK in 1948 as one of 6 kids to Keith and Vernie Jones. Jim proudly served his country in the Army from 1968-1974 including a tour in Vietnam. Jim ran a successful plumbing contracting business in the Seattle area for the past 17 years. He was well respected for his expertise, integrity and heart. Jim is survived by his 2 daughters Becky Todd (Michael) & Courtney Jones, their mother Peggy Jones, and his 3 grandchildren Tristan, Max & Leeland.
Memorial service will be July 6, 2011 at 10:30 am at Edline-Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel, 27221 156th Ave. SE Kent, WA 98042. Military honors to follow at Tahoma National Cemetery, 18600 SE 240th St. Kent, WA 98042. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vietnam Veterans of America at www.vva.ort/support.html.
