Walter Bruce Wooten

–

Roy, WA

Walter B. Wooten was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma on August 4, 1943 to Bruce and Lucy Wooten. A true Grit City boy, he graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961 before entering the US Navy. There he shined as an Electronics Technician on submarines and served dutifully until June 1964. After his Navy service, Walter worked for Addressograph-Multigraph, AB Dick Co., and eventually retired from Cowart-Gagnon Inc. He served each company with distinction with mailing and other technical equipment, and Sales and Service of Printing Equipment in positions around Washington and Oregon. He hung up his hat and retired in June of 2015.
Walter continues to be loved by his wonderful wife of 54 years, Jackie; children Brent (Kimberly) and Tonya (John); and four beautiful grandchildren. During their working years, the family settle in Roy, Washington and served in the Boy Scouts of America, McKenna Community Church, and Tanwax Community Church. Walter was a devoted family man, cared for many friends, and his faith in Jesus Christ provided him with endless love, hope, and trust in God. Our faithful Walter passed peacefully at home, on August 3, 2020, after seven years battling Parkinson's Disease. In honor and recognition of his service to our country, Walter will be interred at Tahoma National Cemetery among his fellow heroes.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height or depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

At the request of the family, please do not send flowers. Instead, think of purchasing a tree (via this obituary) to be planted in Walter's memory.
